Goals

Take a fresh look at prototypical store design to pin-point inefficiencies and implement sustainable design practices. Belk sought to be seen as an environmentally conscience retailer.

Strategy

Analysis of structural design, building envelope design, HVAC, building materials and lighting. After discovering inefficiencies, held a collaborative round-table to discuss possible changes.

Results

Store design received LEED Silver Certification and came in at 10% below the projected budget.
