The building was designed to inspire intermingling of scientific disciplines, complete with collaboration areas, group study rooms and a new atrium. New entrances and public spaces created a more inviting ambiance, while technology integrated throughout the building provide a variety of cutting-edge classroom and thoroughfare environments. The 25,000 square-foot-structure includes new academic laboratories for physics, astronomy and geology, as well as research lab suites, faculty offices and general classrooms. An 85-seat planetarium is visible across central campus, creating a more prominent identity for the program and a more immersive, engaging curriculum for students.
