From preliminary programming to thoughtful space layouts, BHDP’s design expresses Miami University’s mission to “provide an environment conducive to effective and inspired teaching and learning.”

The renovated spaces transformed the static plan into a dynamic flow of large and small, public and private learning nodes with expert attention to the relationship of user to technology in the pursuit of knowledge. To support multiple learning communities and encourage interaction between students and faculty, much of the new space is programmed as a “learning gallery,” integrating architecture with the display of interdisciplinary ideals and connections. The facility has quickly become one of the most popular study environments on the University’s campus.
