Providing academic research and instructional spaces for Geography, Geology, and Environmental Earth Sciences programs, the 67,000 square foot renovation and 20,000 square foot addition includes state-of-the-art office, teaching, research, and collaboration spaces and the Institute for the Environment and Sustainability.

Defined as part of the collaborative design process with administration, faculty and students, project performance measures include effectiveness in student and faculty attraction and retention, learning and discovery, building energy consumption and user satisfaction. Aligned with Miami University’s campus sustainability goals, the project is anticipated to be LEED Silver Certification. Designed to honor the campus’ Academic Georgian context, the addition to the east increases the prominence of the building as visitors enter campus.
