The renovated space improves the quality of the space by providing an enhanced public circulation path, introducing views into the labs, taking advantage of the natural light that is available through the existing building envelope, and providing a physical environment that is appealing and will attract future talent to the school.

The project involved two phases of renovation, with Phase I involving the renovation of PI research laboratory space, offices, open workstation areas, and an upgrade of the existing equipment storage area. Phase II included a Molecular Lab, Tree Improvement Program (TIP) Lab, and their dedicated support spaces.
