Working closely with the University, BHDP designed the innovative Battelle Hall. Mixing traditional materials to blend in with the rest of the campus with a contemporary design, the LEED Gold, energy-efficient building features flexible laboratories and open, inviting student spaces. The central atrium is a welcoming, daylight-filled space where the nationally recognized research laboratories and science programs are on display to those who walk through the building.

The cutting-edge facility also features sustainable landscaping and bioswales, allowing professors to bring their teachings outside the classroom. Because of the attraction of Battelle Hall, ODU has experienced an increase enrollment of science majors.

“We’re confident that future ODU graduates who study and learn at the new Battelle Hall will help inspire and prepare the next generation of scientists and engineers.”
