Though surrounded by an urban environment, the building at 500 W. 7th Street sits on a 7-acre campus-like setting that echoes the academic feel present in Burke’s culture and work process.

The redesign of the building interior created a community-oriented workplace that conveys Burke’s image in the marketplace as a “think tank” while maintaining the time-honored feel true to Burke’s long history. Building on a “client first” approach, the program features a first class Client Engagement Area on the ground floor. Remaining levels of the building support a dynamic mix of hard wall and open office space for approximately 200 employees.

Centralized open break areas have been provided on each level where employees can take advantage of the natural daylight streaming down the monumental stair from the skylight above. Open office areas are mixed with collaborative spaces, including a variety of meeting areas and an employee library, resulting in a highly flexible workplace that has boosted employee productivity and workplace pride.
