BHDP worked closely with the client to determine the distinct utilization of the space. Safelite expressed the need for a variety of collaborative spaces to offer choice in the workplace, and they requested a large, open floor plan similar to a “penthouse” environment. With that in mind, BHDP designers distributed collaborative spaces throughout allowing members of separate teams to congregate and exchange ideas. The two break areas placed on the floor generate a sense of unity, and the garage doors integrated into the spacious conference room create a variable element, allowing for separation and manipulation of the room. Adjustable desks give individual flexibility and support a healthy work environment to all employees.

An exposed ceiling inserted into the hub of the floor presents penthouse vibes and is supported by a sophisticated palette of neutral colors, wood, and pops of the red brand color. The need for multiple conference rooms was eliminated by providing collaborative working zones that are both more interesting and more efficient. The dynamic and diverse spaces have encouraged more impromptu meetings for groups both large and small, leading to a greater sense of collaboration and quicker drive to solutions. The new design enhances work efficiencies and encourages best practice sharing across teams that were not able to collaborate previously.
