BHDP Architecture, the University of Kentucky (UK), and Turner Construction celebrated the topping out of the University’s Agricultural Research Facility 1, marking the completion of vertical construction on the $184 million project.

Once complete, the 270,000-SF facility will serve as a hub for cutting-edge agricultural research and student learning. The building will feature laboratory teaching spaces, faculty offices, rooftop greenhouses, a separate teaching greenhouse, and a 250-seat auditorium designed to foster academic collaboration and innovation.

“This milestone reflects the strength of our trusted partnership with UK and our continued collaboration with Turner Construction,” said Kelly Gardner, Senior Architect at BHDP. “We are honored to support UK’s vision for advancing agricultural research and education through facilities like the Agricultural Research Facility 1 and the Martin-Gatton Agricultural Sciences Building. These projects represent UK’s investment in innovation, sustainability, and student success—and we’re proud to help bring that vision to life.”
Completion is scheduled for late 2026.
