01 Challenge

After outsourcing clinical laboratory testing for almost 20 years, UC Health made the switch to insource this operation, and in doing so, needed a modern CLIA-compliant clinical laboratory. With changes in regulations, the need for immediate access to valuable information, and emerging new healthcare business planning models, UC Health needed to engage a partner with expertise in laboratory design—BHDP.

02 Solution

BHDP designed a series of phased renovations to create a fully functional laboratory with features including unidirectional workflow, integration of the Laboratory Information Management System, a Molecular Diagnostics testing area, and a BSL3 laboratory for AFB/Micology testing designed with proper space pressurization measures and automation of Microbiology including the addition of MALDI and a BD Kiestra.
