01 Challenge
Timken Company launched TimkenSteel to develop customized steel products in Canton, OH. They selected BHDP to design a new headquarters that would accelerate their research and development capabilities and create a culture of innovation and community on their campus.
02 Solution
A new lobby positions TimkenSteel as forward-thinking to visitors and offers new spaces to stage media and social events. A Customer Experience Center demonstrates TimkenSteel’s innovative heritage, while an inviting café ensures knowledge transfer across all staff levels. State-of-the-art R&D labs encourage customer tours, and a new green space effectively bridges the new lobby and café.

03 Results
The new headquarter design has contributed to greater collaboration, concentration, and contemplation from all their employees. The spaces have stimulated mentoring programs to ensure past and new learnings are being shared across employee teams while hastening the implementation of more ideas to keep pace with leadership’s desire for improved work behaviors and faster change. In addition, the new organization’s image and identity are being expressed more consistently and become a source of pride across the employee base.
