Winslow Research Pavilion
01 Challenge
BHDP partnered with Cincinnati Children’s to design the new Winslow Research Pavilion in Avondale. The purpose of this project was to address the growing need for specialized research environments, but to unify these programs in one facility. The challenge was to ensure that the evolving needs of researchers and clinicians would be accommodated while designing a space that supported collaboration and streamlined operations.
02 Solution
The design team focused on ensuring dedicated spaces to accommodate up to 70 employees and to house key research programs, including the Gamble Vaccine Research Center and the Discover Together Biobank. Intentionally organized laboratories, offices, and outpatient study spaces bring researchers and clinicians together, while the centralized biobank and freezer storage support efficient operations.
